Aarhus University’s new website
Since 9 March 2011, Aarhus University has undergone historic changes. The academic organisation, management and administration have all changed to create a coherent and future-compatible university that can match the best in the world. Implementing the branding strategy that was adopted as a link in the changes has consequences for the university’s website. A new information architecture and a new design are being implemented throughout the university’s website.
Four web universes
Aarhus University’s overall website will consist of four universes in future, targeting external partners (those we will either recruit or collaborate with), staff, students and PhD students. The three latter universes will become an ‘open intranet’ for internal users.
Aarhus University’s four core activities
Information about Aarhus University’s four core activities (research, talent development, knowledge exchange and education) will be available from all of the university’s subpages in future. This will be ensured by implementing a new ‘global’ top navigation, which makes it possible to quickly cut cross the organisation, academic areas, products, etc. The websites for the organisational units (departments, centres, etc.) will be accessible via an independent entry point on the au.dk/dk front page: About Aarhus University.
You can follow the status and timetable for ‘Aarhus University’s new website’ at http://au.dk/nyweb (in Danish only).
