Frank Pedersen
Vice-Dean of Knowledge Exchange at Aarhus School of Business and Social Sciences as of 1 March 2011
Associate Professor, MSc in Economics and Management
For many years, Frank Pedersen played a crucial role in strengthening of the international profile of the former Aarhus School of Business. For instance, he was responsible for development of a 1-year full-time MBA and ASB Summer University.
Frank Pedersen has been employed at the Department of Business Studies since 1975. He has coordinated several agreements on double degrees with universities outside Denmark, and he also pioneered the establishment of an MBA summer school. During the period 2000-2003, he also headed a major research project funded by the EU on knowledge transfer related to the development of degree programmes and teaching experience.
Frank Pedersen’s international experience will be a great advantage in his new position, where he will focus on developing and improving the new main academic area’s knowledge transfer activities, including the research-based consultancy services offered by Aarhus School of Business and Social Sciences.
According to Frank Pedersen, a major future challenges will be to sustain and further strengthen existing academic environments while at the same time integrating them into a coherent main academic area which will allow us embrace international trends. Moreover, he also stresses that we must continue to keep – and possibly extend - international accreditations such as EQUIS and AACSB.
“My main objective is to help create a main academic area which is world-renowned for setting high academic standards at all levels. All departments at Aarhus School of Business and Social Sciences have distinctive identities, and all departments demonstrate a high level of academic excellence within their specialisations. We must ensure that we enhance and develop these qualities in coming years,” says Frank Pedersen.
