Lise Wogensen Bach

When Lise Wogensen Bach received her doctoral degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1995, she had already been a senior researcher at the Biochemical Pathology Research Laboratory at Aarhus University since 1994. Dr Bach became associate professor in 2003, and in 2010 she was named Professor MSO at the Biochemical Pathology Research Laboratory, where she heads a group which work on the biology of connective tissue with special focus on blood vessel and kidney disfunctions associated with diabetes.
The new vice-dean of talent development has exercised a crucial influence on AU's health sciences doctoral programmes for a number of years. Most recently, she participated in the process of developing the Vision and Action Plan for PhD education at Aarhus Faculty of Health Sciences which will be implemented over the coming years. Dr Bach has been a member of the faculty's graduate school administration since 2007, and she was appointed vice-director of the graduate school in 2009. In addition to acting as programme manager for the graduate programme in endocrinology in the period 2008-2010, Dr Bach has led introductory courses for new PhD students for several years.
Before joining the staff at Aarhus University, Dr Bach completed a three-year research period at the Scripps Research Institute in California. As vice-dean of talent development, she will work to make doctoral education at AU more international - not only at faculty level, but also in the interfaculty forum which will work to promote the strategic development of the university's doctoral programmes.
