New President of the EUA
Maria Helena Nazaré of Portugal was elected President of the European University Association (EUA) earlier today. The election took place in connection with the organisation’s conference in Aarhus.

- Maria Helena Nazaré has shown herself to be both highly qualified and dedicated in her work as Vice-President of the EUA, and I have no doubts that she will continue to be a valuable asset to European universities in the years to come, said Rector of Aarhus University Lauritz B. Holm-Nielsen.
Maria Helena Nazaré was formerly Rector of the University of Aveiro in Portugal and will take over the presidential post from Swiss Jean-Marc Rapp.
