Nine new vice-deans with major responsibilities
Aarhus University has appointed the first nine of the fourteen new vice-deans who will play a central role in establishing and developing the university's new academic and administrative structure.

An internal round of applications has resulted in the appointment of the first nine of the fourteen new vice-deans who will work to strengthen AU's core activities. The new vice-deans will not only assume a major role in the daily management of the four main academic areas. They will also participate in the interfaculty fora which will soon become part of the university's structure as a consequence of the academic development process. In cooperation with other members of university management, including the four deans, the vice-deans will help develop joint strategies for education, research, talent development and outreach activities.
The nine new vice-deans will officially assume their duties on 1 March. Later this spring, they will be joined by five more vice-deans. The call for applications will be announced this week.
The new vice-deans are:

Aarhus Faculty of Science and Technology
Vice-Dean of Knowledge Transfer: Deputy Director General of NERI Dr Kurt Nielsen
Aarhus Faculty of Health Sciences
Vice-Dean of Education: Professor Berit Eika, Centre Director, Unit for Medical Education
Aarhus School of Business and Social Sciences
Vice-Dean of Education: Vice-Dean of Education at ASB Dr Peder Østergaard
Vice-Dean of Talent Development: Head of the Department of Economics Dr Per Baltzer Overgaard
