Science and Technology
Science and Technology combines scientific and technological knowledge to strengthen Aarhus University’s efforts in research, talent development, knowledge exchange and education.
This main academic area is an amalgamation of the former main academic areas: the Faculty of Science, the National Environmental Research Institute, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering College of Aarhus.
The main academic area consists of the following departments:

Management at Science and Technology
The dean is responsible for the academic and financial management of the main academic area. On behalf of the senior management group, the dean is also responsible for the university’s core activity – research.

The vice-deans undertake a number of the dean’s day-to-day tasks at the main academic area, and are included in the Dean’s Staff. The number of vice-deans reflects the wish for a stronger strategic focus at the university and a strong wish to ensure that the interdisciplinary functions are qualitatively based in the academic environments.
