Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities
Shanghai Jiao Tong University's ranking is exclusively based on research-related indicators. The ranking does not include data from the humanities, as this would favour universities in English-speaking countries. The ranking is based on the following six indicators:
- Nobel prizes and Fields Medals awarded to alumnae (10%)
- Nobel Priser and Fields Medals awarded to employees (20%)
- Researchers with numerous citations in twenty-one broadly defined subject areas (20%)
- Number of articles published in Nature and Science (20%)
- Publication data from the Science Citation Index og the Social Sciences Citation Index (20%)
- Performance measured according to the above indicators per staff researcher (10%)
