News from the Rector's Office no. 37
Meet the new deans and take part in the debate
– about the academic development process and other issues currently being dealt with at Aarhus University.
At the staff meeting on 9 November, the rector will present the new university management, which will spearhead the university from the end of the year. The deans will each briefly talk about their new main academic area and their expectations regarding the work ahead. At the same time, the rector will sum up the academic development process and the challenges up to the end of the year.
Finally, Rector Lauritz B. Holm-Nielsen will take the opportunity to comment on a number of university policy topics, such as the financing of degree programmes, the Finance Act and utilising globalisation funds in 2011, administration costs, gender equality and minor subjects.
Those attending the meeting will have an opportunity to address questions to the Rector’s Office and the deans of the new main academic areas.
On 15 November, a corresponding meeting is being organised for students in collaboration with the Student Council at Aarhus University.

Compared with 2009, the total population has increased by 1,893 people. Bachelor students account for 1,269 of these, corresponding to an increase of eight per cent. The number of Master students has increased by four per cent, corresponding to 612 people.
