Board meeting

The agenda for the meeting to be held on 9 June is available (in Danish only) at http://www.au.dk/da/bestyrelse/2008/3-2008/dagsorden

Morning meeting with centre directors

The rectorate is holding a morning meeting with 26 selected centre directors on 10 June. The selection took place when the main academic areas sent a list of priorities from among their centres, after which the rectorate decided on its priorities mainly based on the extent of external grants. The rectorate’s morning meetings last an hour and provide an opportunity for informal discussions between the rectorate and the circle of participants.

Nordic conference

On 5 and 6 June, the rectorate is taking part in a conference in Iceland arranged by NUS/NUAS (the Nordic University Association/Nordic Association of University Administrators). Read the coverage here.

PhD prize-giving

On 11 June, the University of Aarhus Research Foundation is awarding prizes to five promising researchers. This year, all the prize winners are women. The selection was made on the basis of the academic content of the prize winners’ PhD projects, and emphasises the large number of skilled female researchers with potential at the University of Aarhus. The prize-giving will take place at 11.00 in the Lakeside Lecture Theatres. All members of staff are welcome to attend. To enrol, please contact Lise Poulsen no later than 9 June at lp@adm.au.dk.

Welcome to the new pro-rector

Monday 2 June was the first day on the job for Pro-rector Søren E. Frandsen. The rectorate would like to welcome Søren, and is pleased to be a complete team once more. As previously mentioned, a reception will be held for Søren following the rector’s summer speech on 19 June in the Lakeside Lecture Theatres in Aarhus. More details to come.

Kind regards

New times at au.dk/en

The university’s website is being redesigned. The design and content will therefore change, and you may experience for a while that old and new sections are mixed together, and that the content is not in its usual place.

We hope that the new website will make up for any inconvenience, and that you will enjoy greater coherence throughout and find the website simpler to use.

Why are we making a mess?

In the time ahead, you will notice a mixture of old and new designs in the pages on the website.

In spring 2011, Aarhus University’s nine main academic areas were reduced to four, and the fifty-five departments became twenty-six. This was to unify the organisation and to strengthen the university’s interdisciplinary approach. We are now following suit by restructuring the entire website to ensure more coherence in the content and design.

Such an exercise takes time – and we hope you will bear with us!

Take a short cut

Under the HOT KEY at the top right, you can find links to the most frequently used content on the website, as well as the two new universes for staff and students.

Where can I find it?

Use the new mega dropdowns to get an overview of the website’s content. They open when you run your mouse over the navigation at the top.
