Accommodation for international students
The laws of the land must be upheld.
The University of Aarhus has made the authorities and general public clearly aware of the need for accommodation close to the university – for international students as well.
The rectorate will not accept the use of unauthorised accommodation, and every effort is being made to solve the problem.
Bachelor of Education
The proposal made by the University of Aarhus for a new degree for teachers has been accredited by the Accreditation Council, and the university is waiting for final approval from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. This area has received considerable media coverage. The rectorate emphasises that in its coming work, the University of Aarhus will also establish close collaboration with the university colleges (professionshøjskoler) regarding the degree programme.
Administrative reorganisation
The administrative structure at the university is being thoroughly analysed.
The administrative heads meet on Thursday 17 January with Rambøll Management and others to create a joint image and to coordinate the entire change process.
Rectorate staff/the Rector’s Office
The rectorate staff is kept separate from the Rector’s Office to bring into focus the narrowly defined rectorate service in the form of coordinating meetings, activities, decision processes, etc.
Kirsten Jensen is head of the secretariat and Anette Juhl is the rector’s personal assistant.
The Rector’s Office will be extended in mid-February – for a two-year period – with a Climate Secretariat that will be responsible for the university’s activities up until the Climate Summit in Copenhagen in 2009. Professor Ellen Margrethe Basse is Chair of the university’s Climate Committee and the day-to-day Manager of the Climate Secretariat. Deputy Director Ole Olsen is Head of the Rector’s Office.
Kind regards
The Rectorate
