Management seminar at the Sandbjerg Estate on 13–14 August
Quality in the degree programmes is the main theme of the half-yearly management seminar for the rectorate, deans and administrative heads. Visiting the seminar is Professor Elaine El-Khawas, George Washington University, USA.
Board seminar at Sandbjerg followed by Board meeting on 1–2 September
The annual Board seminar will be held with the participation of the deans. Subjects for the seminar include the midway status of the university’s strategy work.
U-days
Aarhus is the only place in Denmark where the city’s educational institutions collaborate on a joint event to present their degree programmes. Figures for 2008 amounted to 6,500 visitors, 3,250 of whom attended the University of Aarhus. A survey has shown that the majority of visitors are well satisfied with the event. The rectorate has decided that the university will take part again in 2009, when the u-days are expected to be held on 5–7 March. Read more about u-days (in Danish only) here.
Support for CO 2 campaign
The rectorate has decided to provide support for the campaign initiated by the Danish Ministry of Climate and Energy to make companies and staff aware of how to limit CO 2 emission. The rectorate will dispatch an e-mail encouraging all members of staff to participate.
Conference
A little publicity for the deans’ conference: DEAN 2008 Annual Conference Beyond 2010, to be held in Barcelona on 16–18 November 2008. A number of deans have already signed up to attend. Read more about the conference here.
Arrival of the Royal Yacht
On Tuesday 1 July, the rector will take part in the city’s official welcome when the Royal Yacht Dannebrog docks at Honnørkajen (the quay of honour) in Aarhus.
