Visit from China
AU is right at the forefront in terms of collaboration with China. For the second time in the course of just two weeks, AU is expecting a distinguished visit from that enormous country. This takes place on Thursday 27 November, when Cao Jialin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, pays a visit along with a delegation of people from the top management of Chinese education and science.
In combination with other Danish universities, AU is in the process of taking a quantum leap into one of the most attractive countries when it comes to collaboration on research and education. At a ceremony in Beijing a month ago, the Danish Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, signed an agreement about having a Danish university in the forthcoming international campus in Beijing.
On Thursday, the Chinese delegation is thus coming to AU, where Cao Jialin and his entourage will be shown round the campus and meet Rector Lauritz B. Holm-Nielsen.
Christmas event
The annual staff Christmas event will be held on Thursday 18 December at 15.00–17.00 in the Lakeside Lecture Theatres in the University Park in Aarhus. The event will be streamed and can be followed on the Internet. The rector will hold his Christmas speech, which will be supplemented this year with a presentation from AU researchers and a subsequent panel debate.
Read the invitation to the Christmas event (in Danish only).
Reception for the Director of Administration
On Friday 28 November at 12.30–14.00, an internal reception will be held to mark the resignation of Director of Administration Niels Højberg. The reception will take place in the Richard Mortensen Room (building 1422) in Aarhus. Invitations have been sent to the main academic areas and administrative sections. All members of staff are very welcome to turn up, say farewell to Niels Højberg, and wish him well in his coming job as Municipal Director in the Municipality of Aarhus.
Kind regards
