Rector's Office

The primary task of the Rector’s Office is to provide policy, strategic and legal counsel and advice to the senior management team, with a special focus on the rector, the pro-rector and the university director.

Another core task of the Rector's Office is to take an overall, cross-organisational view of the university as a whole and to facilitate and communicate decision-making processes internally at the university, as well as ensuring that these processes are planned effectively with as much time as possible for the inclusion of relevant bodies and staff/students. 

The Rector's Office is divided into three groups:

Secretariat and Legal Support provides administrative assistance and prepares meetings and larger events, primarily for the rector, pro-rector and university director. The group also provides strategic legal counsel and advice to the senior management team, the board, the Aarhus University Research Foundation and others on general legal questions, including questions regarding the University Act, the university’s by-laws and rules of procedure.

Analysis and Policy provides the senior management team with strategic analyses and administrative support and is responsible for managing relations to the university-wide committees and forums. 

Communication and Press coordinates the university’s strategic communication and handles media relations on behalf of the senior management team, in addition to coordinating additional internal and external communication on the university webside au.dk.
