In 2008, the Danish Minister for Culture appointed Michael Christiansen as Chairman of the Board of DR (formerly Danmarks Radio). He was Managing Director of the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen 1992–2008, and previously worked as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence and Head of Department at the Ministry of Justice. He is both chairman and member of a considerable number of boards, committees and institutions.
