External Board member Steen Riisgaard
Steen Riisgaard (b. 1951) was awarded his MSc in microbiology by the University of Copenhagen in 1976. He began his career at Novo Nordisk as a researcher and held a range of other positions in the company before being promoted to the position of Corporate Executive Vice President with special responsibility for Enzyme Business in 1989. Steen Riisgaard has been President and CEO of Novozymes since 2000, when the company was spun off from Novo Nordisk in a demerger. He is also deputy chairman of the boards of the Egmont Foundation and Rockwool International, and chairman of the boards of ALK Abello and the World Wildlife Fund in Denmark.
