Academic employee at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics 939909

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics is seeking an academic employee for a permanent position starting January 1, 2018. The candidate will be associated with the Molecular Intervention research group located at Gustav Wieds Vej 10, 8000 Aarhus C.

The candidate must have at least an MS degree in molecular biology or a related field and experience with common laboratory procedures as well as participation in project management. The candidate will participate in short- and long-term projects and also independently be responsible for maintaining and implementing laboratory procedures based on a wide variety of techniques of molecular biology and protein chemistry. The work also  involves some administrative duties.

Desired qualifications and specific competences:

• Knowledge and experience with basic laboratory procedures within molecular biology and protein biochemistry, e.g. preparation and manipulation of plasmids, mutagenesis, protein purification

• Knowledge and experience with analytical methods, e.g. protein-based assays, ELISA

• Experience with cell culturing and recombinant expression

• Experience with maintaining of zebrafish for use as a model organism (FELASA-B level desired)

• Ability to independently design, develop and implement laboratory procedures 

• Strong analytic, organizational, written, and verbal communications skills
