2-year postdoc position at the Center for Proteins in Memory (PROMEMO) 932622

The new Center for Proteins in Memory (PROMEMO) at Aarhus University invites applications for a postdoc position in molecular neuroscience. The position is funded by The Danish National Research Foundation and is initially for two years. The starting date is 1 January 2018.

With the aim of gaining insight into molecular mechanisms of memory, in particular of ionic channels and their regulation, the project will involve electrophysiological experiments and fluorescence based measurements, including two-electrode voltage clamping and cut-open voltage-clamp fluorometry with an unnatural amino acid.

The candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in molecular biology or similar and to have experience with general molecular biology techniques as well as with electrophysiology. The candidate should be able to manage projects independently, be innovative, take responsibility for supervising students, and be a good team player.

The place of work will be the Department of Molecular Biology and will be part of a multidisciplinary Center of Excellence addressing memory from a variety of angles. The adress is Gustav Wieds Vej 10, 8000 Aarhus C  and the area of employment is Aarhus University with related departments.

Application procedure
Short-listing is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. Formalities and salary range

Science and Technology refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
