Applying for Admission

What documents you need to attach to your application depends on which location you are applying to. In general, you can expect to need the following:

  • Official transcript of records from your home university (must be in PDF format and must be in English). Your transcript of records is a list of grades from courses you have completed at your home university.
  • Copy/Scan of passport OR national identity card (national identity card only an option for EU Citizens)
  • Transcripts from bachelor studies - for master students only (must be in English)
  • Depending on the department/faculty to which you wish to apply for exchange, some applications also must include a document of English language skills.

Please note that your application cannot be submitted until you have uploaded your transcript of records.

Please be aware that your international coordinator at your home university has to confirm your application as a last part of the application procedure before  you are able to submit your application. Please make sure to have time enough for this confirmation before the application deadline.

Further information regarding how to apply can be found on the directions for your specific location under Step 2: Creating Application (make sure you choose the correct faculty/department to which you wish to apply for exchange, under Step 2: Creating Application).

Once you have successfully been enrolled and accepted as an exchange student at Aarhus University, you will receive a Letter of Enrolment. Please note that your International Coordinator at Aarhus University will be evident in your Letter of Enrolment. All questions regarding academic matters must be directed to your designated International Coordinator at Aarhus University.

In order to get your Learning Agreement approved and signed, you must contact your International Coordinator at Aarhus University.

All documents submitted with your application must be in PDF format.

Please make sure that your computer allows for this capability before beginning the application process.

Below are instructions to download a free PDF writer, in case you do not already have one installed on your computer.

If you attempt to attach a document which is not in PDF format, you will receive an error message with a link to a free PDF Writer, which is tested by the university and which you can use, if you have no access to a PDF Writer.

If you need a PDF writer, you can follow this link.

  1. Activate the link PDF-Writer – Free Download in the right-hand side window box
  2. Choose "desk PDF-standard" in the next window and press "Free Download"
  3. Follow the installation guide from there.

When the product is installed, you will have "desk PDF" as a virtual printer in your usual printer dropdown list.

This “printer” makes a PDF version of your document, which you can save and attach to your application.
