What next?

We do our best to process your application as fast as possible. However, due to the high number of applicants, it may take a few weeks.

If your application is incomplete, the application process will be prolonged and you might not be able to submit the application before the deadline. As a consequence, your application may be rejected.

Therefore, we strongly encourage you to make sure that you submit a complete application.

You can always check the status of your application by logging into the online self service, using the same login and password as when you created and submitted your application form.

On your account you will also have access to updated information regarding:

  • Your programme of study
  • Your mentor/buddy (not available for students at AU Herning)
  • Your accommodation

Once you have been accepted, AU will send you a welcome e-mail containing the following documents:

  • Letter of Enrolment
  • Documents needed to submit an application for a residence permit (for non-EU applicants)

The e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address that you have written in your online application. This means that you will receive very important documents in your inbox and therefore should pay special attention to having enough space for this e-mail. It is also important that you begin to plan you trip to Aarhus as soon as possible. On the Arrival in Denmark page of the portal for current international students, you will find information about travelling to Denmark (Aarhus, Emdrup and Herning), as well as information regarding Residence Documents and Danish Social Security Number.

It is very important that you understand what you should do regarding the residence certificate/permit as it is not uncommon that potential students must give up their place due to not having applied in enough time.

Do you have some questions about the arrival process when coming to Aarhus? Check out this instructional video on what the registration process will be like when you arrive and register with the International Centre and Housing Office.

Stay up-to-date and find out more information about your specific AU Intro Days - a mandatory introduction programme, organised by the International Centre in cooperation with Studenterhus Aarhus.

It usually takes place before or during the first weeks of each semester start.

The Facebook page is administered by the International Centre, but should be seen as an opportunity for social gatherings, peer-to-peer contact and more.
