Moving out
Moving out date
Read your contract carefully, as many accommodations need to be vacated 7 days prior to the stated termination date.
Inspection
Make an appointment with your janitor or the IC accommodation officer to inspect your room before you leave. Please note that you are expected to be present during the inspection.
See your information folder regarding where to hand in your folder, keys, and laundry card if any.
Reimbursement of deposit
Please fill out the reimbursement of deposit form before you move out. You can fill it online or in person at the International Centre.
The deposit is used to cover expenses that may arise if your room is damaged or dirty when you leave. If your room is in good condition, the full deposit will be returned to you. The amount should be deposited in your account within two to three months.
National Registry Office
Before you leave Denmark, you have to contact the National Registry Office (Folkeregistret) to notify them about your address in your home country. In order to do this please send an email to: folkeregister@aarhus.dk or see the Citizen Service at the Town Hall, Rådhuspladsen 2, 8000 Aarhus C. Remember to state:
- Your full name and address
- The date of your departure
- Your cpr number
- The country you are moving back to
If you lack to deregister within two weeks after you moved out, you will risk to get fined by the municipality.
