Types of housing offered by the AU Housing Office
Students do not live on campus in Aarhus. Many students live together in residences scattered around the city. Most residences are situated some distance from campus, but as most students have a bike, this is not considered a problem. The public transport system also functions very well and buses run frequently between the residences, campus and the city centre.
Other students prefer to let or sublet a room from a Danish student or landlord, and some rent a flat or a house which they share with friends.
Whether living in a residence, flat or house, students have to cater for themselves. So don’t forget your recipe book! Cleaning (both your private room and the common facilities) and doing your laundry are also your own responsibility.
