Travel grants

The Travel Grant is a reimbursement of travel expenses up to 1000 € for students from selected partner universities. Please check with your university or on our website to see if you are eligible to apply for this grant.

Please note that you can only apply for the travel grant once!

If you have not booked your return ticket, please contact your travel agency to get an offer, and enclose this document with your application form.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled on a full-time basis as an exchange student at Aarhus University for a period of at least three months
  • Be enrolled in one of the selected partner universities. Please check with your university for more details.

“Full-time basis" means that the student must be able to document that he or she has signed up for at least 30 ECTS per semester (Not including the Denmark Today course). This means that your AU coordinator has to sign your application form before you hand it in to the International Centre. The applicant's program of study at Aarhus University must also be recognised by the home university.

How to apply?

Fill in the application form (PDF) and return it by mail or in person at the International Centre, signed by your AU coordinator. Remember to enclose all documents described below.

Please note that according to Danish law you are required to travel the cheapest way possible to be eligible for a reimbursement of travel expenses.

Documents to enclose

  • Airplane tickets + boarding pass (including sales offer for return ticket if not yet purchased)
  • Original invoice for the airplane tickets
  • Original bus tickets and invoice (if any)
  • Original train tickets and invoice (if any)
  • Documentation for any other mentioned amounts on the form (if any)

Revised 2011.10.03

New times at au.dk/en

The university’s website is being redesigned. The design and content will therefore change, and you may experience for a while that old and new sections are mixed together, and that the content is not in its usual place.

We hope that the new website will make up for any inconvenience, and that you will enjoy greater coherence throughout and find the website simpler to use.

Why are we making a mess?

In the time ahead, you will notice a mixture of old and new designs in the pages on the website.

In spring 2011, Aarhus University’s nine main academic areas were reduced to four, and the fifty-five departments became twenty-six. This was to unify the organisation and to strengthen the university’s interdisciplinary approach. We are now following suit by restructuring the entire website to ensure more coherence in the content and design.

Such an exercise takes time – and we hope you will bear with us!

Take a short cut

Under the HOT KEY at the top right, you can find links to the most frequently used content on the website, as well as the two new universes for staff and students.

Where can I find it?

Use the new mega dropdowns to get an overview of the website’s content. They open when you run your mouse over the navigation at the top.
