Healthcare
Doctor
With the Danish Health Insurance you can see a doctor (General Practitioner) without charge. When you receive your health insurance card, your doctor's contact details are printed on your Health Insurance Card if you need to make an appointment. Remember to bring your Danish Health Insurance Card when you go to see the doctor.
If you have a medical history, it is always a good idea to bring with you the accurate and complete physical and mental health information to secure a safe and healthy study abroad experience.
The regular opening hours for GP's in Denmark are 8-16. However, most GP's have one day a week with longer opening hours. Note that phoning time is normally between 8.00 - 9.00 only.
After Hours Doctor
If you need medical assistance outside of your doctor's opening hours, please call the After Hours Doctor (lægevagten) to make an appointment. The telephone number in Aarhus is (+45) 7011 3131.
