The Central Telephone Switchboard

The Switchboard is based in the main building, building 1.410, rooms 132 and 133 - beside the Main Hall. It is open every weekday from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

The Switchboard is part of the Department of Communications and Public Affairs ' organisation, and all enquiries concerning its operation and responsibilities should therefore be addressed to the Head of Communications and Public Affairs, Anders Frølund.

Any questions about the telephone system and the services it can offer should be directed to Henrik Riri at the Administration Computing Office.

Information about meetings, conferences etc.

Departments are requested to send details of meetings, courses, conferences and seminars by fax to 8942 2111, or by e-mail to omstillingen@au.dk. We would request that all messages be sent in writing and not by telephone.

Updating directory details

The information held in the telephone database, which is the foundation of the electronic search system, is partly maintained by the Switchboard and partly by a group of people with rights of access. Each individual department can help to ensure itself a better service by informing the Switchboard as quickly as possible when any changes are made to the telephone directory within the department. The telephone database is the corner-stone for finding people at AU, and also in the switchboard's CAX-system. The Administration Computing Office can give permission for the updating of the database. Any enquiries in this respect should be addressed to Henrik Riri.

New times at au.dk/en

The university’s website is being redesigned. The design and content will therefore change, and you may experience for a while that old and new sections are mixed together, and that the content is not in its usual place.

We hope that the new website will make up for any inconvenience, and that you will enjoy greater coherence throughout and find the website simpler to use.

Why are we making a mess?

In the time ahead, you will notice a mixture of old and new designs in the pages on the website.

In spring 2011, Aarhus University’s nine main academic areas were reduced to four, and the fifty-five departments became twenty-six. This was to unify the organisation and to strengthen the university’s interdisciplinary approach. We are now following suit by restructuring the entire website to ensure more coherence in the content and design.

Such an exercise takes time – and we hope you will bear with us!

Take a short cut

Under the HOT KEY at the top right, you can find links to the most frequently used content on the website, as well as the two new universes for staff and students.

Where can I find it?

Use the new mega dropdowns to get an overview of the website’s content. They open when you run your mouse over the navigation at the top.
