The responsibility for information security rests with the university management.

To perform the daily management of the information security work we employ a chief information security officer (CISO), and have set up a central information security committee (CISU) to be responsible for the overall prioritization and monitoring of the tasks involved.

The Central Information Security Committee has a technical subcommittee (TISU), which addresses the IT technical aspects of the information security work, and make recommendations ofnspecific solutions to the central committee. The technical subcommittee also handles maintenance of Aarhus University's Information Security Manual and the preparation of information material.

In addition to the central committee there are local security committees in each faculty (LISU), whose task is ensuring prioritization and operationalization of the tasks which lie in the university's annual cycle for information security and to handle the decentralized information security issues.
