Housing application procedures guest students & interns via AU Housing

The housing application process consists of the following steps:

  • The housing applicant read the information at http://www.au.dk/en/internationalcentre/auhousing/intern/aarhus/ thoroughly.
  • The housing applicant must set up an account on AU's self-service system.
  • When the applicant is logged on to the self-service system, he/she must fill out the relevant housing application form.
  • The applicant's contact person or supervisor at AU will then receive an email, with a request to verify via a link that the applicant is a guest or employee at AU.
  • After the contact person has responded to the email, the housing applicant will receive a confirmation email from the contact person. This will allow the applicant to complete the housing application and submit it to AU Housing via the self-service system.
  • AU Housing will then try to find accommodation, and eventually a housing offer will be send to the applicant. The applicant can either accept or reject this offer. The earlier we receive the application, the better chances of receiving a housing offer. Apply minimum two months before expected start of the lease. August, September and October are VERY busy months and it is not likely that AU Housing can find a vacant room.
  • If the applicant wishes to accept the housing offer, then he/she must pay the first month's rent via a 'Dibs' payment system. This system requires an applicant to have a credit card. The security deposit will only be charged later on, together with the second month's rent (usually after arrival).
  • AU Housing is situated at the International Centre in the Dale T. Mortensen Building, Høegh Guldbergs Gade 4A, 8000 Aarhus C and is open on weekdays 10am-2pm. AU Housing doesn't provide any welcome service or handing out of keys outside opening hours. Do your guest arrive outside opening hours you are welcome to collect the key on behalf of the guest.
  • Please notice, that all rooms are furnished with basic furniture only (bed, table, chair, lamp) and kitchen equipment (plate, cutlery, glas, pot and pan.) Aarhus University does NOT provide additional furniture, duvets, pillows, blankets, bedlinnen or towels.
