Guest apartments at The Old Observatory Villa

The Old Observatory Villa, Observatorievejen 3 & 5, 8000 Aarhus C

Aarhus University now rents out 4 renovated apartments in the old, protected, patrician Observatory villa, close to the beach and the beech forest, and right next door to Queen Margrethe’s holiday residence, Marselisborg Castle. These apartments can only be rented for arriving foreign guest researchers and – professors visiting Aaarhus University. The rental period is time limited to minimum 2 months and maximum 12 months. The guest must be recommended by AU.

The apartments are fully furnished and equipped with linen, towels, and kitchen utensils. Portable baby beds and high chairs can be borrowed upon request. The rent includes heating, water, electricity, media license, wireless internet access, cable TV, free parking, removal of snow in the winter, and gardening in the summer.

From the Observatory there is a 5 minute walk to public transportation (town bus 19), and it is possible to bike to Aarhus City and the university.

The apartments are not a hotel, and the guests are expected to take good care of the apartments during the stay, i.e. clean on a regular basis, and leave the flat as received.

Together with the first month’s rent a deposit ( = 1 months’s rent) and a departure cleaning fee must be paid.

HOW TO APPLY:

Applications for these flats must be made by the faculty/institute at which the coming guest will be working and cannot be done by the guest him/herself. The application must be accepted and recommended by the Dean of the faculty in question.
