India-AU Collaboration
NOVOZYMES AND HENNING HOLCK-LARSEN FOUNDATION AWARD MAJOR GRANT TO AARHUS UNIVERSITY
Biotechnology is enjoying strong growth, also at Aarhus University where the field has just received a major grant from Novozymes and the Henning Holck-Larsen Foundation.
Totalling up to DKK 4.2 million, the project funding will both give talented young researchers from Aarhus University the chance to conduct research in India and enable young Indian researchers to visit Aarhus University.
“The project gives Aarhus University a unique chance – within biotechnology – to develop existing collaboration and establish new partnerships with some of the strongest players in India. We are thrilled that Novozymes and the Henning Holck-Larsen Foundation are facilitating this work, which will benefit both Danish and India research,” says Brian Bech Nielsen, Dean of Science and Technology.
The aim of the exchange agreement is also to strengthen the cultural links between India and Aarhus University, and to give individual researchers the chance to develop personally as well as professionally.
“At Aarhus University, we are investing heavily in talent development, and this represents a very exciting opportunity which we can offer our young biotechnology researchers, and which can help them to become even better. At the same time, we at the university can benefit from having young and talented Indian researchers working with us for a period, thereby allowing us to share our knowledge and experience,” says Brian Bech Nielsen.
Altogether, the grant will enable about six researchers to travel from Aarhus to India, and likewise for six Indian researchers to visit Aarhus University.
