A wide range of options to finance projects for staff from Christian-Albrechts-Universitaet zu Kiel, Universität Hamburg, University of Southern Denmark and Aarhus University. This is the result from a newly signed collaboration agreement between the two Danish and two German universities.
The new agreement is an expansion of an existing collaboration between Aarhus University, University of Southern Denmark and the University of Hamburg established in 2011, and which now also includes the University of Kiel.
Strengthened opportunities for collaboration across universities
The agreement allows for financing activities in a startup phase with the purpose of identifying areas of common interest in research and education. For instance, matchmaking activities, joint symposia and workshops can be supported.
The four universities want to support activities within all scientific disciplines. The maximum grant is € 20,000 to activities in which all four partners involved, € 15,000 for activities with three partners and € 10,000 a year of operations with two partners from the partnership.
Collaboration agreement signed at Sandbjerg
The new collaboration agreement, which remains in effect until March 2014, has been signed by the rectors from the four universities at Sandbjerg Conference Centre, February 23, 2012. The German universities were represented by Rector Dieter Lenzen, (Universität Hamburg) and Vice-rector Thomas Bosch (Christian-Albrechts-Universitaet zu Kiel), and from Denmark Rector Jens Oddershede (SDU) and Rector Lauritz B. Holm-Nielsen (AU) participated.
