Around 450 university leaders and other higher education stakeholders gathered at Aarhus University in the middle of April 2011 for the annual EUA conference. The theme of the conference was “Investing today in talent for tomorrow” - a theme that would address the growing challenge of attracting the most talented young researchers for higher eduction institutions in Europe.

EUA publishes the Aarhus Declaration

In relation to the conference, EUA has published The Aarhus Declaration. It is a political declaration underlining the outcomes of its recent conference which focused on talent development in European higher education. Read the Aarhus Declaration at the EUA website or download as pdf.

Celebration of 10 years of EUA

The conference in Aarhus also marked the 10th anniversary of the EUA association and this was marked by a celebration of the achivements of the last decade.

Closing ceremony with President Barroso

For the closing ceremony on Friday 15 April EU's President José Manuel Barroso and Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen participated in the discussion and give their views on the theme. The Danish Minister of Science and Technology, Charlotte Sahl-Madsen also participated.
