Research collaboration

Aarhus University frequently has interaction and collaboration with private business both domestically and abroad. The University is always open for new opportunities to collaborate on research areas of common interest. Aarhus University actively takes part in both specific research projects as wells as more general opportunities for private companies.

Collaboration through research projects

Aarhus University collaborates with private companies on research projects. Together the University and the company define the project and contribute equally.

The contents and terms of the research project are formulated in a project description and a collaboration agreement. The two documents must, at the minimum, meet the criteria for collaboration described in the University’s internal guidelines and the guidelines on collaboration agreements with private companies set out by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. In some collaboration agreements there are additional terms that must be taken into consideration. Those agreements include clinical agreements and agreements for research projects financed under the 6th and 7th frame work programmes of the EU, which are so-called consortium agreements. Other types of agreements that are relevant for collaborative research projects include material transfer agreements (MTAs) and non-disclosure agreements or confidentiality agreements (NDAs). Choose a link from the box on the right to read more.

The TTO is often involved in the formulation and negotiation of these agreements. In some instances, the Office must review an agreement, before the contract can be signed. Read more below or contact the TTO, if you have any questions regarding agreements for collaboration projects.

New times at au.dk/en

The university’s website is being redesigned. The design and content will therefore change, and you may experience for a while that old and new sections are mixed together, and that the content is not in its usual place.

We hope that the new website will make up for any inconvenience, and that you will enjoy greater coherence throughout and find the website simpler to use.

Why are we making a mess?

In the time ahead, you will notice a mixture of old and new designs in the pages on the website.

In spring 2011, Aarhus University’s nine main academic areas were reduced to four, and the fifty-five departments became twenty-six. This was to unify the organisation and to strengthen the university’s interdisciplinary approach. We are now following suit by restructuring the entire website to ensure more coherence in the content and design.

Such an exercise takes time – and we hope you will bear with us!

Take a short cut

Under the HOT KEY at the top right, you can find links to the most frequently used content on the website, as well as the two new universes for staff and students.

Where can I find it?

Use the new mega dropdowns to get an overview of the website’s content. They open when you run your mouse over the navigation at the top.
