IT track
Deputy Director of IT Flemming Bøge has been appointed head of track. The deputy director reports to the director of administration, and is responsible for unifying, developing and running the university’s joint IT solutions.
The aim of the IT track is to provide an IT infrastructure throughout the university under common management that effectively facilitates exchange of data at the university, internally as well as externally, provides a joint user-oriented development strategy and a structure that ensures basic operation and support, security and accessibility.
All organisational issues will be dealt with once a new deputy director of IT has been appointed. These issues include, for example:
- The structure of the central IT organisation.
- Interfaces between centralised and decentralised levels.
- Setting up a joint service desk for IT and multidisciplinary subject areas.
The following four subprojects are planned:
- Setting up a shared data network for the entire university.
A work group was appointed at the beginning of June 2008 with representatives from all the main academic areas.
A draft proposal must be available before the summer holidays with a view to establishing a joint data network during the third quarter of 2008. - Setting up a joint directory structure and model for identity management.
A project group will be appointed before the summer holidays with a view to commencing an analysis in August 2008. The project group will consist of members of the Infrastructure Committee for 8000C, supplemented by representatives from the new areas. The aim is to present a draft proposal in October 2008. - Setting up a joint mail and diary system.
The report from Rambøll suggests that a draft paper be presented during the third or fourth quarter of 2008, whereupon the process of physically creating the system can commence. - Setting up a joint service desk for IT and multidisciplinary subject areas.
A project group will be appointed in August 2008 with a view to presenting a draft proposal during the third quarter of 2008.
