Venue: Aarhus The process of globalisation offers a topical illustration of the interaction between linguistic and cultural factors in the construction of discourse, both within specialised domains and in wider contexts where an international perspective is becoming more and more widespread. The course first examines the main features of specialised discourse and then explores intercultural communication in specialist fields, giving special attention to business discourse from an intercultural perspective. The importance of the use of English as a lingua franca is also taken into consideration as well as its influence on the linguistic and textual realisations at an international level.
