AU students - credit module

How to apply for courses offered by another study programme

AU students applying for courses offered by another study programme, should apply via the online application system. From December 1st - March 15th.

In order to apply for a course offered by another study programme your board of studies need to pre-approve it. Some courses may already be pre-approved by your board of studies (see the list of pre-approved courses below). If your line of study, or the course you are interested in, is not on the below list, you need to have a pre-approval from the board of studies before you can apply.

Apart from that you need to be aware that in order to apply for courses this way you:

  • Must be enrolled at AU by the time the course takes place.
  • Must have space in your study programme to have the course inserted
  • Must have completed your bachelor's degree if you are applying for courses at Master's level

AU Summer University courses follow the same rules as semester courses. This is important if you change your mind regarding participation, get ill during the course etc.

Pre-approved courses

Below you can find a list of courses, that some specific boards of studies have pre-approved. If you are a student of one of the study programmes and the course you are interested in is on the list, you will not need to apply for a pre-approval. Instead you can then go-ahead and apply for the course in our application system and upload a confirmation of enrollment to your application, instead of a pre-approval.

If your line of studies or the course you are interested in is not on the list it does not mean that you cannot take Summer University courses, but it means that you have to have the course pre-approved.

Can I change/cancel my registration?

You are free to change and cancel your stads registrations as long as the registration is still open in stads. After the deadline March 15th it is only possible to cancel/change a course registration according to the rules at your board of studies, which are the same rules as for semester courses.

What if I want to apply for a course offered by my own study programme and a course that is pre-approved?

In that case you have to make two different applications. One in stads for the course offered by your own study programme and one in our application system, for the one you have gotten pre-approved.

I am unsure that I will receive the pre-approval before application deadline, can I still apply?

In that case you can still apply before the 15th of March and then send us the pre-approval later on. Please write a comment in your application that the pre-approval is pending. But please notice that we cannot register you for the course before we have it, so if the course is fully booked once you receive the pre-approval we will have to offer you an alternative course instead.
