On 2 May 2012 Aarhus University hosted a visit from Peking University. President Zhou and Rector Lauritz B. Holm-Nielsen met at Peking University in October 2011. At this meeting a very prestigious partnership agreement was signed, including possibilities for exchange students, exchange of PhD students and staff as well as establishing Summer University and other academic activities.
Furthermore the University Management at Aarhus University has appointed 2 million DKK from its strategy budget to establish new and specific collaboration agreements at four Chinese Universities, within education, research, talent development and knowledge exchange over a two-year period. Peking University being one of the strongest universities in the world is also part of this AU project.
