Biostatistician (AC-TAP position) at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology, Aarhus University 964993

Aarhus University, Health, Department of Clinical Medicine, Department of Clinical Epidemiology is seeking an experienced and motivated biostatistician. 

The workplace address is Olof Palmes Allé 43-45, 8200 Aarhus N. 

The Department of Clinical Medicine has – in close collaboration with hospitals – the overall responsibility for research and for the teaching of medical students at the hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. The majority of research takes place at Aarhus University Hospital, though there is also an increasing level of activity at the regional hospitals. 

Department of Clinical Epidemiology (DCE) is a research department within Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University and affiliated with Aarhus University Hospital. Researchers at DCE use advanced epidemiological methods to study questions relevant for clinical care. DCE is engaged in a broad range of research activities within clinical epidemiology. Moreover, DCE is involved in consultancy for national and international government agencies and the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. A large number of projects in the department is carried out in collaboration with foreign universities. DCE wants to improve the competences within clinical toxicology and biomarker research. 

The Department is chaired by a clinical professor who is also head consultant. The Department employs another professor and 5 consultants, and approximately 30 PhD students. 

You will be employed with reference to the Head of Biostatistics.

Job responsibilities/tasks 

• Perform statistical analyses for the research projects in the department
• Provide support in connection with planning and analysis of data.

Professional qualifications 

• MSc in statistics or mathematics
• Experience with data management based on healthcare data and other large datasets
• Interest in healthcare research

• You are able to prioritize your workload
• You have an eye for details
• You have the capacity to interface with clinicians and statisticians in charge of projects both in a national and international setting

• You are interested in further developing your own professional qualifications
• Sparring with colleagues and collaborators should come natural to you

You will be part of an international work environment and a department that delivers front line research within clinical epidemiology. The tone in the department is informal. We endeavour to help and support each other in solving tasks with quality as the keyword. The department encourages competence development through collaboration with colleagues, internal education programs, and visits to other research environments. 

The position, which is a part-time position with 20 hours per week, is expected to be filled on 1 April 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
