Postdoc in receptor expression in the blood-brain barrier 1007466

A postdoc position within the field of blood-brain barrier transport is available at the Department of Biomedicine at Aarhus University, Health, Denmark from 1 January 2019 or shortly thereafter.

Research area

The postdoc will primarily work with receptors in brain endothelial cells and their trafficking in blood-brain barrier models. These models are based on primary porcine and murine cells but induced pluripotent human stem cells might be included later in the project. The work will be based on advanced imaging such as spinning disk, light sheet, TRIF and high content screening and priority will therefore be given to candidates with competences in advanced imaging and in vitro BBB models.

A relevant PhD is mandatory and the perfect candidate will have a broad background in blood-brain barrier and cell biology as well as fluorescent-based imaging.

The project is part of the RIBBDD consortium (www.RIBBDD.dk), which includes 5 academic groups from Aalborg, Aarhus and Copenhagen. The position is for a 30-month, and the candidate will be employed at the Faculty of Health at Aarhus University, where he/she will be associated with the BBB group headed by Associate Professor Morten S. Nielsen.
