Department of Computer Science is looking for a Post Doc in Software Ecosystems and IoT 1008117

A post doc position is available in the Ubiquitous Computing and Interaction group at Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University.

The postdoc position is part of a work package on Smart Industrial Products in the MADE Digital platform (www.made.dk). The aim of the work package is to enable seamless integration of IoT enabled smart industrial products in larger ecosystems of products in all phases, including design, production, commissioning, and operation. The research should support development of industrial solutions that scale in terms of globality and volume with a world class user experience.

The position is for two years and the starting date is expected to be January 1st 2019.

Work tasks
The responsibilities of the successful applicant would include research on the above topics in collaboration with other staff at Computer Science and Engineering, as well as central industrial project partners such as Grundfos. In addition to research, there may be modest teaching and service tasks.

Educational qualifications
PhD. Degree/ Post Doc level.

The successful candidate should have extensive expertise and research experience in software architecture, Web technologies, and Internet of Things. We are in particularly interested in candidates with expertise in software ecosystems, digital twin architectures, security aspects, as well as cloud and edge computing. In addition, skills within visual modelling and communication of systems and data would be an advantage.

Personal qualifications
The candidate should be able to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team.

Information about workplace
Computer Science in Aarhus was founded in 1968 as part of the Department of Mathematical Sciences. The Department of Computer Science became independent in 1998 and today the department in is internationally recognized among the top groups in several research fields. The department has 27 tenured faculty members and a total of 150 employees, including PhD students.

Application procedure
Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him/her self. Once the recruitment process is completed a final letter of rejection is sent to the deselected applicants, including the main considerations emphasized during the selection process.

Formalities and salary range

Science and Technology refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The application must be in English and include a curriculum vitae, degree certificate, a complete list of publications, a statement of future research plans and information about research activities, teaching portfolio and verified information on previous teaching experience (if any). Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
