Associate professor position(s) at the Department of Biomedicine - 1009183

Aarhus University, Faculty of Health, Department of Biomedicine invites applications for one or more positions as Associate Professor at the Department of Biomedicine. The candidate(s) must have an excellent track record in Biomedical research and potential of becoming a successful group leader. We are looking for scientists who sees opportunities in collaboration with the existing strong research groups at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital as well as abroad.

About the Department of Biomedicine

Aarhus University is among the top-100 universities in the world (no. 65 by Shanghai ranking 2018) with focus on basic and translational research, interdisciplinarity and a strong link between research and education. The Department of Biomedicine is part of the Faculty of Health, Aarhus University, and employs some 450 people. Biomedicine bridges natural science and clinical medicine, and the research cover a wide range of research areas. The Department has an international vibrant research environment where English is the preferred language in the laboratory, at meetings and at seminars. The Department contributes to the bachelor’s degree programs in medicine, molecular medicine, odontology and the master's degree programs in biomedical engineering and medical chemistry. Major teaching areas are Cell biology/histology, gross anatomy, genetics, biochemistry, physiology, neuroscience, pharmacology and infection/inflammation. Modern laboratory facilities with associated support, core and animal facilities provide the framework for our research. Required qualifications

Appointment as an associate professor requires research and teaching qualifications at such level as can be attained following a satisfactory period of appointment as an assistant professor, but which could also be achieved otherwise. It is assumed that applicants have received supervision and training in university education and have received a positive written assessment of their teaching qualifications.

  • The appointment is in accordance with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikerne).
  • Remuneration is in accordance with the above, and the Salary agreement catalogue for staff at Health.

A maximum of five of the publications of greatest relevance to the job must be submitted.
