Associate Professor in Molecular Biology of Crops 875202
The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science and Technology at Aarhus University will appoint an Associate Professor in Molecular Biology of Crops. The position is open from March 2017.
The position is intended to strengthen the research in molecular biology of crops in the section of Crop Genetics and Biotechnology.
Applicants should have a strong record of original scientific production and must document research of international standard within the field of molecular biology/biotechnology of crops grown in Denmark.
The person appointed should have demonstrated dynamic leadership and is expected to establish a strong research group that can address both fundamental and applied aspects of molecular biology of crops in collaborations with relevant industrial partners.
Demonstrated success in fundraising is expected.
The Department has teaching responsibilities at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels in plant molecular biology. Participation in teaching at all levels is expected. Research in the section of Crop Genetics and Biotechnology forms the basis for policy support to Danish ministries, and relevant participation in this support is expected.
The place of work is Forsøgsvej 1, Flakkebjerg, 4200 Slagelse and the area of employment is Aarhus University with related departments.

Short-listing is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. Formalities and salary range
Science and Technology refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
The application must be in English and include a curriculum vitae, degree certificate, a complete list of publications, a statement of future research plans and information about research activities, teaching portfolio and verified information on previous teaching experience (if any). Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
