Associate Professor in Geometry/Topology at Aarhus University
Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Aarhus University, invites applications for a permanent position as Associate Professor in Geometry and Topology to be filled as soon as possible. The workplace will be the Department of Mathematics and the successful applicant will be associated with Centre for Quantum Geometry of Moduli Spaces (QGM) within the Department of Mathematics.
The chosen candidate is expected to play an active role in securing external funding and take part in the teaching and supervision of students at all levels.
QGM focuses on Quantum Geometry of Moduli Spaces. In particular the aim is to provide and study complete mathematical models for a number of quantum field theories. These include topological twists of quantum Yang-Mills theory, the geometric Langlands Program, quantum Chern-Simons theory and quantum gravity in two- and three-spatial dimensions. It is a collaborative project involving representation theory, algebraic topology, algebraic geometry, quantum algebra, quantum topology of three-manifolds, Riemann surfaces and Teichmüller theory, gauge theory and Berezin-Toeplitz quantization, together with mathematical aspects of quantum field theory and string theory.
