Associate professorship in nursing 932310

The Section for Nursing at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Health is seeking for an Associate Professor as soon as possible. The position includes research within the field of nursing, and teaching at the Degree Programs of the Department of Public Health, primarily at the Master’s and Professional Master’s Degree Programs in Nursing and Health Science. The Associate Professor will be employed with the workplace on the Campus Aarhus. However, teaching and supervision of students on the Emdrup Campus has to be expected.

The position is a full time permanent position.

Being one out of eight sections at the Department of Public Health, the Section for Nursing is Denmark’s largest provider of education within nursing science, offering a Master’s Degree Program in Nursing and a Professional Master’s Degree Program in Clinical Nursing. The section has between 20 and 25 PhD students.

The section collaborates closely with clinical settings at different University Hospitals, Clinics and Primary Health Care, especially Central Denmark Region and in the Copenhagen area. Furthermore, we participate in networks with Nordic and International collaborators within nursing science.

We offer an active research environment within the following four research areas:
•The patient perspective on health, illness, care, treatment and rehabilitation
•Clinical nursing and health care
•Patient and health care provider relationships
•Health services research

Furthermore, the professor of the section has established a research program under the heading ”Communication and Ethics”.

The section aims to intensify its research efforts facilitated by all existing health science research methods.
The Associate Professor is expected to pursue this aim and to possess the interest and skills required to undertake different teaching activities of the department and to develop own research based on a research plan.

Based on a relevant scientific background, the successful candidate proficiently conducts research and establishes collaborations nationally and internationally. Interest in and documented experience with teaching, supervision and course management at an academic level are required.

Required qualifications

Appointment as an associate professor requires research and teaching qualifications at such level as can be attained following a satisfactory period of appointment as an assistant professor, but which could also be achieved otherwise. It is assumed that applicants have received supervision and training in university education and have received a positive written assessment of their teaching qualifications.

A maximum of ten of the publications of greatest relevance to the job must be submitted.
