Vacancy for a three-year position as Researcher in Aquatic Ecosystem and Eco-Hydrological Modelling 959200

Department of Bioscience at Aarhus University invites applications for a three-year Researcher position in Aquatic Ecosystem and Eco-Hydrological Modelling. We seek an innovative and cross-disciplinary researcher capable of strengthening the research within the interactive fields of catchment processes and freshwater ecology. The position is available from June 1 2018 or as soon as possible here after. The department seeks to recruit a candidate, who may become eligible for a permanent position as Senior Researcher.

The candidate’s research should focus on the development and application of numerical models for aquatic ecosystems. The research should include, but is not limited to, holistic modelling approaches to elucidate and quantify linkages between freshwater ecosystems, landscape processes and climate forcing. Documented experience with model applications across several climate zones and landscapes of the world is desirable, but not a prerequisite.

Candidates are expected to have some experience with scripting languages (preferably Python), as well as a track record of peer-reviewed publications relating to both aquatic ecosystem modelling and eco-hydrological modelling. The successful candidate must have a PhD in environmental engineering, quantitative freshwater ecology or a closely related field.
