Lean Launch Pad Fall 2017

Create and test your business model

Lean LaunchPad is a lean way to develop business models

Gains and outcome

  • You get to create and test business models for your idea
  • Learn how to use the Business Model Canvas (BMC)
  • Get insight in potential customers, users, collaborators etc.
  • Get feedback from instructors, industry and investors on your idea and business model

Objective:

The objective is to develop start-up/spin out teams that have a strong understanding of how their product or service meets the needs of their Customer base. Within the Lean Launchpad process, this is described as product-market fit and is achieved through the use of Customer Discovery (External Interviews conducted to validate assumptions).

Description:

The course works on the basis of a continuous process of interviews to validate assumptions listed in the Business Model Canvas. The course starts from the assumption that the canvas is initially completed with hypotheses related to Customer Segments and the Value Proposition. The rest of the BMC is addressed throughout the course.

Method:

·       Lean LaunchPad is a 5-module workshop, focusing on different aspects of the business model at each workshop

·       Individual meetings with all teams prior to the workshops

·       Between the modules, the teams propose and test hypotheses as defined in a Business Model Canvas. Weekly interviews and other costumer discovery activities are conducted with a range of stakeholders, such as end users, potential partners or external advisory consultants.

·       At each workshop, the teams present new knowledge obtained during interviews and highlight how this input has changed the proposed business model of the company/idea

·       The teams get feedback from instructors and industry guests on the next best step of business modelling

·       At the final workshop, there will be a panel of relevant investors, industries and innovation actors to give feedback and guidance for the further business model creation.
