As Head of Research at Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus, I contribute to developing and strengthening interdisciplinary diabetes research in close collaboration between the university, hospital, and clinical practice.
Focus of research is on the biological mechanisms underlying diabetes and related metabolic diseases, with particular emphasis on type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, and pharmacological treatment. His research combines experimental and clinical studies to understand how physical activity, fasting, nutrition, and antidiabetic medication affect metabolism.
