Profile

Niels Strange Grønborg is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University, and a research fellow at the Danish Finance Institute (DFI). He holds a PhD in Economics and Business Economics from Aarhus University (2014). 

Research

Niels' research interests include different areas of empirical finance and empirical asset pricing such as return predictability, portfolio theory, mutual funds, financial econometrics, and climate finance. An overarching theme is the question of how and why asset prices move and the implications for investors. 

Teaching activities

Niels is teaching a master’s course in International Finance offered in the Master's program in Finance and International Business at the Department of Economics and business Economics, Aarhus university. The course is 10 ECTS and deals with both theoretical and empirical aspects of International Finance. Niels also supervises bachelor and masters theses across a number of educational programs, topic reports, and PhD students.

Niels has previously taught introductory finance classes at the BSc Econ and BSc Business Administration programs.

Job responsibilities

Niels is the programme coordinator for the Master's program in Finance and International Business (cand.merc with specialisation in Finance and International Business) and teaching coordinator for finance courses at BSc Econ/MSc Econ. 

Niels is a member of the study board in Economics.
