I am a psychiatric genomicist specialising in mental disorders and associated comorbidities, with over a decade of experience in genomics-based mental health research. Early in my career, I contributed to the development of genomic methodologies and the identification of functional genes. In 2020, I joined the National Centre for Register-based Research at Aarhus University, in which my research focuses on genetic risk factors for mental disorders.
My research focuses on genetic risk factors and the biological mechanisms of mental disorders. I developed integrated omics methods to explore the aetiology of mental disorders and comorbidities, most notably SMR and GSMR (~3500 citations). Beyond methodological advancements, I collaborate with clinical psychiatrists and epidemiologists to translate genomics insights for improving mental health outcomes.
Working as a senior researcher includes a variety of tasks,
Genomics-based research for mental disorders
Coordination of research projects
Organising presentations during group meetings
Maintaining research datasets
