Silke Holmqvist specialises in contemporary Danish and European Cultural History in the 20th century. She studies Popular Culture, Visual Archives, Media, and the representation of ethnic minorities in mainstream culture across digital archives and audiovisual sources.
She is particularly interested in theory of experience and the interplay between emotions and urban environments, and in how historical and archival research can be rethought and practiced in a digital age.
