As a part of my Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM), I  visited associate professor Přemysl Rosůlek, at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (Department of Politics and International Relations). We are working together in the working group 1 (Research genealogy: bringing together higher education and political science studies) within OPEN COST Action CA 22121.

Rosůlek and I exchanged information and knowledge about the research trends in Slovakia and Czechia in two different research fields: academic freedom and national ideology. We discussed academic freedom specifically in Slovakia and Czechia and discussed the topic in general as well. The created general characteristic of academic freedom is prerequisite for the empirical research of academic freedom in mentioned countries. Mentioned characteristics is planned to be part of our scientific article in the scientific journal.

In the following meetings, we analysed the questionnaire for the research of the national ideology and the possibilities of its application in the compared countries (Slovakia and Czechia). I presented the grounded theory of the formation of national ideology in university educational process, and we were finding its application in the current educational process.

Moreover, the results of this STSM can be a good example of bringing together higher education and political science studies. STSM was a good opportunity to expand my scientific and research cooperation with the expert in the field of political science. I have obtained the useful frameworks for the research of academic freedom by the view of political science. I think that theoretical frameworks in the political science may justify the current trends in the development of higher educational process. I believe, that result of the STSM will be a prerequisite for the long-term research of the academic freedom in Slovakia, Czechia and the future research results can be inspirative for similar comparative studies all over the world.
